Summer Learning Journey – Legs Legs Legs? (Step it up)

Summer Learning Journey – Legs Legs Legs? ( Kickstart )

For this Summer Learning Journey activity we designed a prosthetic leg for Mosha (The elephant) her front left leg, Mosha the elephant once stood on a landmine when she a only 7months old (still a baby) I enjoyed working on this because it took a lot of creativity and took a lot of time to decide what patterns I should have done for her leg.

Summer Learning Journey – Legs Tally (Kickstart)

For this activity we focused on maths, maths about centipede. We watched one of the videos linked, “A live Giant centipede” after watching the video we made a copy of our Legs Tally Kickstart task, And so I noticed that most of the math problems were about centipedes and the centipedes legs. Feel free to look at my work!

Summer Learning Journey – Art in the web (Step it up)

For this activity, we used paper and scissors to create handmade spiderwebs. We started by watching a video, “Spider Webs: Spider Artists at Work,” which showed how spiders build their webs. Here are some facts I learned from the video :

spiders use strong and stretchy silk to catch insects. They feel vibrations in their webs when prey is caught, though some hunt without webs.

I enjoyed the making of the spiderweb and looking foward to more fun activities Summer learning Journey has planned.

Summer Learning journey – Art in the web

Summer learning journey is back! For this activity we designed our ”Art in the web” hand made using a pencil and paper following the videos linked. From watching one of the videos linked I discovered that spider webs have many different kinds of silk some being:

Strong silk

Sticky silk ( to catch bugs)

Fluffy silk ( to wrap their eggs )

And even silk thinner than a hair strand!
