LI: To write a narrative from an AI prompt
This week we got to explore Papyrus AI in Writing. Papyrus AI is a generative AI which has to do with creating things. We used it to help us write a narrative story that incorporated two different fairy tales : Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. Papyrus asked us for our ideas, and gave us feedback to improve our paragraphs, until we had completed our whole narrative story. I liked how we get to get creative by mixing up 2 fairytales. Here is my story :
The Story Between The 2 Long Lost Sisters.
Once upon a time, there lived two lovely sisters. They were completely different, and they had no idea they were siblings because one lived on land and the other underwater. The oldest, who lived on land, was Belle, which left Ariel as the sister who lived underwater.
This all started when Belle was just born. Shortly after, Ariel was born. Belle and Ariel sadly never got to meet, even as newborns, because they were separated. On Ariel’s 5th birthday, things didn’t go as planned because she sadly drowned due to waves while swimming… or did she? Meanwhile, Belle wasn’t able to attend because she had the flu. But Ariel was so lucky; she had magically turned into a mermaid.
During Ariel’s transformation, the curse covered her legs with a long, shimmery green tail, and her hair turned long and vermillion with light green eyes. She met another master shortly after she realised she could breathe underwater, and due to some magic, she began calling this new master her caregiver (her dad). He introduced her to his six daughters, who soon became her sisters.
Ariel was raised by them, accepting them as her new family. Her new dad introduced her to their home, a magical castle beneath the Atlantic Ocean. Although Ariel had been drifted away from her original life, she was proud and happy to have a family underwater.
Meanwhile, Belle was only 8 when it all happened; she is now 20, which meant the incident was 12 years ago. The only story she believed was that she had a sister who was a miscarriage, a rumour made up by her uncles. But that wasn’t true. Belle also didn’t believe that her sister was a mermaid because she thought, “I’m too old to believe in mermaids.”
Belle discovered online that there was a reward of 100 grand for finding a living mermaid with vermillion coloured hair and greenish eyes. Belle was 96% sure this could be her living long-lost sister. Determined, Belle travelled to the Atlantic Ocean and went for a dive. She had an oxygen tank to help her breathe. And there they were… Ariel was brushing her hair while Belle stared politely. Belle gently knocked on the door. “Who could that be, Flounder? Are you expecting anyone?” Ariel asked as she opened it. At that moment, Belle’s oxygen tank started to lose air, so she quickly dove back up to the surface.
Belle reached the top but was out of breath. When she woke up, Ariel was sitting nearby, staring at the sunset. Belle was in shock and couldn’t help but just stare. Then, Ariel turned around and was equally shocked to see her sister. “You’re real,” said Ariel. “So are you… but how? You’re a mermaid… they don’t exist?” Belle replied. They stared into each other’s eyes, and Belle ran up and hugged Ariel. As she hugged Ariel, Ariel transformed into her human form. From then on, they were inseparable.
The sad part was that it was hard for Ariel to say goodbye to her underwater family. She said goodbye but was devastated inside. “I will now be your water master. We will visit, and I will never forget you,” said her underwater caregiver (underwater dad). Belle soon realised that she shouldn’t have to find her own sister for 100 grand. She later introduced Ariel to their real parents on land, and they now love reading to each other and lived happily ever after.
